| Aims and Activities: Our church building is sturdy, compact, comfortable, warm and welcoming . It epitomises the demeanour of our congregation; a congregation which is drawn not only from Cawdor Village itelf but also from many miles of surrounding countryside. There are currently around 170 members on the role at Cawdor of which we normally see 80 – 100 each Sunday. The congregation is cosmopolitan whilst still including families who have worshiped at Cawdor for generations. Ages range from the young to the not so young and all worship comfortably together. Meeting / Opening Times: Weekly services are held each Sunday morning at 1015hrs. Facilities: We have a small World Church Team constituted from within the Cawdor congregation. They meet once a month to consider how best to promote the work of the World Wide Church. The team actively encourage the congregation to support projects. We have a very active Sunday School. The children normally join the congregation at the start of the service and retire to the Mound with their teachers after the Minister's address to the children. Of course, this can vary and the children often join the congegation for special services, such as baptisms. The Sunday School teaching follows Church of Scotland guidelines and special events are marked with innovative ideas generated by the Minister or the Sunday School Leader. There are a number of active social groups based on Christian Fellowship within Cawdor Church. The Evergreen Club is a monthly weekday lunch club in the Mound, aimed primarily at the retired in the community, but all are welcomed. The Friendship Group also meets monthly on a weekday afternoon. Its aim is to foster fellowship in the community and be a centre of church social activity. |
