Transport and streets
Community life and leisure

All non-profit making groups, clubs, organisations and societies operational in the Highlands will be considered for inclusion. National organisations or websites may be included where they offer benefit to people in the Highlands.

Information from profit-making commercial organisations or businesses will not normally be accepted unless the service offered is considered to be of benefit to community well-being. This includes social care providers authorised by The Highland Council's Self Directed Support service.

Preference will be given to organisations that are able to provide a current email address which can be used for receiving update reminders.

The Highland Council reserves the right to:

  • Amend layout, style, change categories and to further develop the website
  • Contact any participating organisation to ensure adherence to this policy and delete any organisation which is deemed to be making unacceptable use of the High-Societies website. This includes any entry or organisation which:
    • Involves illegality because it violates copyright laws, Data Protection laws, the Freedom of Information Act or any other legislation
    • Is harmful to any other person.
    • Encourages illegal behaviour
    • Involves anonymous communication
